When I die, I will have no worries…
When I die, I will have no worries…
Nor will I care about my lifeless body…
Because my Muslim brothers will do everything that is necessary:
• They will remove my clothes…
• They will wash me…
• They will wrap me in a shroud…
• They will take me out of my home…
• And they will carry me to my new dwelling — the grave…
• Many people will attend my funeral prayer…
• Some will even cancel their appointments and commitments just to join my burial…
These will be the same people — most of whom may have never truly paid attention to my advice while I was alive.
Then all my belongings will be cleared away…
• My keys…
• My books…
• My bag…
• My shoes…
• My clothes…
And if my family is righteous, they will give these things in charity so that I may benefit from them.
Be certain that the world will not cry for me…
• The world will not stop…
• The economy will continue…
• My job will be given to someone else…
• My wealth will be transferred to my heirs…
Yet for every bit of that wealth, I will be held accountable!
• For the little…
• For the much…
• For every tiny particle…
And the very first thing that will be taken away from me at the moment of death is my name.
When I die, people will say: “Where is the body?”
They will not mention my name.
When they pray my funeral, they will say: “Bring the janazah.”
They will not mention my name.
When they bury me, they will say: “Lower the deceased.”
They will not mention my name.
So I should not be proud of my lineage, my nationality, my position, or my fame.
How insignificant this world is…
And how great is the reality we are heading toward!
O living human! Know that three types of sorrow will be felt for you:
-
Those who barely knew you will say, “Poor guy!”
-
Your friends will grieve for a few hours or a few days, then return to their conversations and laughter.
-
Deep sorrow will be felt by your family — for a week, two weeks, a month, two months, or maybe a year…
Then they will place you in the corner of their memories.
Your story with the people of the world will end…
And your real story will begin…
You will lose:
• Beauty
• Wealth
• Health
• Children
You will leave behind your house, your properties, and your wife…
And only your deeds will remain with you.
And that is the true beginning of life!
The question is:
What have you prepared today for your grave and your Hereafter?
This reality demands deep reflection…
So:
• Guard your obligatory prayers…
• Perform extra acts of worship…
• Give charity secretly…
• Do good deeds…
• Stand in prayer at night…
So that you may be saved.
If you advise others with this message while you are alive, then on the Day of Judgment you will receive its reward, Inshā’Allah!
“And keep reminding, for reminders benefit the believers.”
